  • Lauren Ferguson, MS, LMFT

    OWNER, CERTIFIED EMDR CHILD SPECIALIST

    Lauren became a licensed marriage and family therapist over 20 years ago. After living in Conifer with her family for more than a decade, she opened the doors to Conifer Play Therapy in 2017 and has since provided support to hundreds of children and families in our community. Lauren is an EMDRIA-Certified Therapist and a Certified EMDR Child Specialist. She continues to expand her knowledge and training to offer the most effective treatment to children.

  • Jen Malas, MSW, SWC

    CHILD and FAMILY THERAPIST

    Jen completed her Master’s degree in Social Work in 1996 and is currently a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Candidate. Using the therapeutic power of play and a strength-based approach, Jen will create a safe and supportive space for your child to grow and connect in healthy new ways. Jen finds supporting families to be a great honor and privilege and has the upmost respect for the unique story of your child and your family.

  • Derrick Jones, MA, LPCC

    CHILD and FAMILY THERAPIST

    Derrick recently completed his Master’s degree in Clinical mental health counseling through Adams State University. He has worked with children for more than a decade in various settings including schools, camps, and sports/athletic programs. Derrick completed his internship at Conifer Play Therapy from 2023-2024 and is excited to continue supporting the children and families in our community as a full-time employee.

  • Mary Pat Bowen, BA

    CARE COORDINATOR

    Mary Pat has lived and worked in the mountain community for many years. She’s the Director of Victim’s Services for the Park County Sheriff’s Office and volunteers with multiple organizations serving children and families in this area. Conifer Play Therapy is so fortunate to offer Mary Pat’s expertise in domestic violence advocacy, local free resources, and individualized care. She values strong community connections and is excited to bring her love of supporting healthy families to her role as Care Coordinator.

  • Piper Belle, CGC

    CANINE CO-THERAPIST

    Piper and Lauren provide animal-assisted emotional support and a unique therapy experience for kids. Piper is a “Canine Good Citizen” with a gentle nature that immediately puts children at ease. She is particularly soothing for kids who struggle with emotional dysregulation, anxiety, or depression, and for those needing support with personal boundaries, attachment, and learning prosocial behavior.
